The Organ harvesting case of Ekweremdu is still on, and he risks 10 years imprisonment as he and his wife have been found guilty of facilitating the travel of a young man with the intent to take his kidney without his permission.
Come May 5, the Ekweremdus’ are to be sentenced by the UK central Criminal court, Old Bailey after six weeks of trial.
Toby Okechukwu raised a motion of Urgent Public Importance at a plenary session of the House of Reps, calling on the UK Government to intervene in the sentencing of the Ekweremdus so that they won’t be sentenced unjustly, they’ve also beckoned on the Nigerian government to also intervene in the matter, by reaching out to the UK Govt.
This is quite unfortunate, for the ex-senator as it seems the UK are strict with their laws, with just two days to his sentencing do you think, that the Nigerian govt can still intervene?
