Tragedy strikes Hollywood, as American brilliant actress Jacklyn Zeman died on Wednesday. This information was announced and confirmed by the producer, Frank Valentini, of the longtime series “General Hospital” in which she played the Character of Barbara Bobbie Spencer.
He announced this information on Twitter, saying that they are heartbroken to announce her death, he further described the actress, as a lively and professional actress, whose positive attitude always rubbed off on others on set.
He wrote, “On behalf of our #GeneralHospital family, I am heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved $JackieZeman.
“Just like her character, the legendary Bobbie Spencer, she was a bright light and true professional that brought so much positive energy with her to work.
Zeman has been in General Hospital for 45 years she was nominated four times in the Daytime Emmy Awards, for her role in the ‘General Hospital’. Fellow actors have expressed their condolences over her death.
Zeman has been battling with cancer for a while, a situation which was well known by her family and some colleagues in the industry, and unfortunately could not win the battle, she is survived by two daughters, Cassidy and Lauren.
Zeman joined the “General Hospital” in 1977, she took a break from the show from 2010 to 2013 and then returned to the show, she has remained in the show ever since, until her death, the last time Viewers got to see her face was in April.
