KANO: Commissioner Nominees To Declare Assets
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

Alhaji Kabir Yusuf, the Governor of Kano State, has ordered all 19 Commissioner nominees to comply with the code of conduct rules.

This means that the nominees are expected to declare their assets within the suitable possible time before their onward screening at the State Assembly.

This announcement had come via a brief communique released on Wednesday, June 21, where the Yusuf had maintained that no nominated commissioner would be sworn- in as cabinet member unless they filled the asset declaration form from the Code of Conduct Bureau.

Governor Kabir Yusuf coild be said to be affirming his promise of commitment, to the Kano State people, reiterating that transparency and accountability were still the basic tenets of his administration which would be duly applied to uphold the promise of good governance stated in his blueprint during the electioneering campaign.

The governor’s comments is coming several hours after he threatened to publish the names of individuals who had allegedly received illegal land allocations from the former governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, at the Kano Polytechnic.

Governor Yusuf seems to have a bone to pick with ex-governor Ganduje as can be seen from his outbursts and actions. From demolishing structures erected by his predecessor, to threatening suspected supporters/beneficiaries of his government, it looks like things might come to a head very soon.
