The Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State has warned citizens against fake news that it is admitting new intakes into the School. Nigerians had been advised to be wary of fraudsters spreading misinformation.

The Commandant of the Academy, AIG Sadiq Abubakar, had told newsmen on Tuesday, July 18 that the Academy was surprised to find out that several criminal elements were trading admissions to unsuspecting victims.

In his words:
“I want to elucidate that those behind the spreading and selling of the admissions offers are fraudsters who are out to tarnish the good image of this Academy. There is absolutely no admissions going on presently in this academy”.

The Commandant had further explained that plans were being made by the institution to launch new programmes on security studies.

The Commandant had made this disclosure during a media dialogue with news men, saying that the academy would offer different certificate courses under security studies.

AIG Abubakar had also said that the Police Institution, the only one in West Africa. will now begin offering security officers the opportunity to study the highlighted courses in the institution rather than traveling outside the country.

Additionally, the Commandant had suggested that the Academy was planning to introduce skills acquisition courses like bread production and poultry farming, among others in a move to drive internal revenue generation for the institution.

Lastly, Abubakar had urged Nigerians to be cautious of scammers of fake admission lists, as the institution was yet to release an admissions list.
