The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, has announced that every Monday would henceforth be an Economic Empowerment Day, EED, in the South-East.

The infamous leader had made the declaration on Saturday, August 5, in a statement signed by Emma Powerful, IPOB’s media and publicity secretary.

Nnamdi Kanu’s statement read partly:
“Economic Empowerment Day, EED, suggests a day kept aside for the mass mobilisation of Biafrans to allocate their resources towards reversing the cutting and unprecedented decline in the economic, educational, and social needs of the Igbo people occasioned by the protracted sit-at-home orders.”

The statement had also urged the people to begin an increased deployment of their resources for the empowerment of the poverty-ridden population of the South-East during the EED exercise.

“There is a crucial need to regain our lost glory by commencing on emancipating Biafrans with education, health services, employment, and the resources they need to live beyond just merely surviving as our people are known worldwide for their hard work, resilience, and great achievements.”
