BREAKING News: United Arab Emirates Withdraws Visa Ban on Nigerian Travellers

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi, have concluded talks on an agreement that has resulted in the instantaneous cancellation of the visa ban put on Nigerian travellers.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale had disclosed this news via a statement on Monday, September 11.

As part of the agreement between both nations, Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines were to immediately commence flight schedules in and out of Nigeria with no further delay.

The statement had partly read:

“The immediate return of flight activity through these two airlines and between the involved countries had not involved any immediate payment by the Nigerian government.”

“In recognition of President Tinubu’s economic development diplomacy move, and the proposals presented by President Tinubu to his counterpart today, an agreed framework has been established, and it will involve several billions of U.S. dollars worth, of the latest investments into the Nigerian economy across different sectors, not excluding defence, agriculture, and others, by the investment arms of the United Arab Emirates Government.

“On the other hand, President Tinubu is content to have remarkably, discussed a joint, new foreign exchange liquidity program between the two administration, which will be broadcast in detail within the coming weeks.”
