In a gripping turn of events, Atiku, who faced defeat at the hands of Tinubu, has refused to back down and is now challenging the former Lagos State governor’s victory. He made his resolute stance clear during a press conference on Thursday, addressing the swirling controversy surrounding Tinubu’s academic records, recently released by the Chicago State University (CSU).

“I will only drop the fight when the court rules. If the court rules that I am right, fine. If the court rules that he is right, fine,” Atiku declared, showcasing his unwavering determination. “So, that’s the end of the fight because, at the moment, we are the Supreme Court, and there is no higher court than the Supreme Court.”

Notably, Atiku wasn’t alone in his assertions. His lawyer, Kalu Kalu, took the stage to reveal startling findings from Tinubu’s academic records. Kalu accused President Tinubu of allegedly presenting a forged degree certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the election.

Although President Tinubu and his supporters vehemently denied the allegations of forgery, Kalu Kalu argued that the released documents substantiated these claims.

When pressed about rumors that individuals had attempted to exert pressure on Atiku and orchestrate a presidential intervention to compel him to resign, he firmly stated that he had rebuffed such advances. “Immediately after the elections, I was told there was a delegation of governors who claimed they were sent by the president, and I did not even allow them to get into my house – I didn’t,” Atiku asserted.

Despite concerns that his business interests might be at risk due to his persistent stance on the certificate controversy, Atiku remained undeterred, stating that he was not bothered by potential repercussions.

As this captivating drama unfolds, it appears that the fate of this contentious issue now rests in the hands of the Supreme Court.
