Armed bandits had on the evening of Saturday, October 14, abducted two students of the Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State once more.
According to an eyewitness account, the two abducted students were male and female, and they had been kidnapped in their off-campus hostel around 9pm on Saturday in the Sabon Garin Damba area of Gusau, the state capital.
Residents had said that the bandits ambushed the community a few minutes after 8pm and fired guns sporadically in other to frighten residents.
Several gunshots were fired by the security personnel who tried to repel the aggressors but the bandits carried away the two students.
Another resident who asked for anonymity for security reasons had informed Channels Television that the combined security forces of police and soldiers were currently in pursuit of the bandits.
Efforts to speak with the spokesperson for the state police command, ASP Yazid Abubakar, had proved abortive as he had not taken the calls put across to his line.
