Manchester United’s Nightmare Continues: Humiliated 3-0 by Haaland’s Manchester City

Yesterday, we consoled Chelsea fans after their embarrassing 2-0 loss to Brentford. Today, it’s Manchester United’s turn to face the music, and trust us, it’s a symphony of shambles. For a club that was on fire last season, winning the Carabao Cup and securing fourth place in the Premier League, this season’s performance is nothing short of a comedy, and not the good kind.

Maybe it has something to do with Da Gae leaving the club. Erling Haaland, the goal-scoring sensation, didn’t hold back. He netted twice as Manchester City handed Manchester United a 3-0 drubbing at Old Trafford, leaving United fans in despair.

Haaland, the scoring machine, capitalized on United’s vulnerabilities, slotting home a penalty midway through the first half, then heading in a second just after halftime. He even had the generosity to set up Phil Foden for City’s third.

City started the match outside the top four but quickly showed they’re in a league of their own, climbing to third. On the other hand, United’s fifth defeat in 10 league games this season leaves them down in eighth, a staggering 11 points away from the top spot.

Before kick-off, legends from both clubs paid homage to the great Bobby Charlton, but once the game began, the battle was on. Despite winning their previous three games, United’s form has been unconvincing. Andre Onana’s penalty save against FC Copenhagen may have saved their Champions League hopes, but their defense remains shaky.

Onana had to pull off some acrobatics to deny City, but he couldn’t prevent a penalty after VAR intervened. Rodri was fouled by Rasmus Hojlund, though United fans might argue such incidents often go unnoticed in the box.

Haaland had faced criticism for not meeting his usual high standards, but he silenced his critics by scoring from the spot. Hojlund had a golden opportunity to equalize but missed, leaving United fans pulling their hair out.

City doubled their lead in the second half, and United seemed like they were playing a replay of the first goal. The third goal marked the cue for many United fans to leave the stadium, showing their dissatisfaction with Ten Hag’s decisions.

So, if you’re sitting next to a United fan, it might be time to offer them a tissue, as they’re bound to shed a few tears.
