The Nigerian Federal Government has ordered Chevron Nigeria Limited to settle any disputes concerning the Host Communities Trust Fund. An issue that concerns the oil firm and the local communities in

Warri exploration and the production region in Delta State.

The statement emphasized the need for both sides to maintain peace until the issue was settled and to bear in mind that the federal government was now committed to doing the right thing.

This disagreement between Chevron and the towns of Ugbororo, Ugbegugun, and Dembele in Warri South Local Government Area is primarily based around the formation of a host community trust fund and on who will be on the Board of Trustees.
