Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, the Benue State Governor, has encouraged Nigerians to ensure that those who served in the country’s armed forces are very well taken care of.
He gave the reassurance during the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Interdenominational service organized by the Benue State Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in partnership with the state government, at the Chapel of Grace, Government House Makurdi, on Sunday.
According to Alia, meeting the needs of those who have put their lives at stake for the sake of duty to keep the country safe, is the only way they can forget their ugly moments while in service.

Gov Alia called for prayers for the families of the deceased officers, saying their bravery and sacrifices have ensured the rest of the citizens of the country are safe.
He described the Armed Forces Remembrance Day as a day to applaud the services and unwavering commitment of the Armed forces to the security of the country.
He charged the people to use the occasion to secure peace within the state and the country, as a mark of respect to the fallen heroes.
