Nollywood actress and Nigerian media personality and actress, Toke Makinwa has described Nigerian men as “the best [dating partners] in the world.”
She went on to add that despite her criticisms of Nigerian men, they were better compared to their counterparts around the world, especially when compared to the United Kingdom lads.
Makinwa had made this revelation while speaking in the latest episode of her podcast, TokeMoments, she said:
“No matter how I criticise Lagos men, Nigerian men are just simply badly behaved. But I [still] believe Naija men, in the [dating] pool are still the best around the world.
“What the UK girls are going through, I don’t understand. When all my cousins in the UK narrate their dating stories, it is bad.”
Her guest, Madame Joyce, a British media personality, also replied in the affirmative: “Honestly, it is really bad. And I feel like its because we are so used to it, that is just the expectation over there. In Nigeria, somebody opened the car door for me, I was like, ‘Wow!’ UK boys hardly do that. Chivalry in London is so dead. The guys don’t have a lot of shame. There are still conversations about splitting the bills 50/50 over there. It happened to me once.”
