Tensions are on the boil in Rivers State, where the House of Assembly has reignited a firestorm against Governor Siminalayi Fubara. The lawmakers, led by a clearly irked Speaker, Martin Amaewhule, are accusing the Governor of playing fast and loose with the constitution – a game they’re no longer willing to tolerate.

Remember that impeachment drama a while back? Apparently, it’s not over yet. The House, like a scorned lover, is threatening to take Governor Fubara back to court, impeachment-style. This time, they’re accusing him of being a serial signer – signing a Presidential Peace Accord, then conveniently forgetting all about it.

But wait, there’s more! The lawmakers claim they gave Governor Fubara a chance, a chance fueled by their respect for President Tinubu. They naively hoped for a change of heart, a blossoming of constitutional respect. Sadly, their rose-tinted glasses seem to have shattered.

Now, the gloves are off. The House is fuming, and they’re not afraid to show it. They’ve warned Governor Fubara: mend your ways or face the music – impeachment music, to be precise.

So, what does this all mean? Rivers State is about to get interesting (again). Will Governor Fubara heed the warnings and straighten up? Or will the House of Assembly make good on their threat and turn up the heat? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure – popcorn is recommended for this political spectacle????
