The wait is over for Ibadan! The kingmakers, called the Olubadan-in-Council, have announced they’re ready to crown a new king. Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, chosen as the next Olubadan, is healthy and in good spirits according to the Osi Balogun, Oba Lateef Adebimpe.

This is exciting news for Ibadan as it’s been a while since they’ve seen their new king. Oba Olakulehin recently made his first public appearance since the passing of the previous Olubadan.

Preparations for the coronation are underway, and the Olubadan-in-Council is happy to report Oba Olakulehin is in good health. An official date for the ceremony hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s expected to happen soon.

As tradition dictates, Oba Olakulehin will be officially nominated by the next chief in line, Otun Balogun Tajudeen Ajibola. This will happen at a special meeting led by the most senior chief from the other chieftaincy line.

The excitement is building in Ibadan! The family of the new king has even begun distributing clothes for the coronation ceremony. Keep your eyes peeled for updates on the official coronation date.
