The River state governor awarded over 400 students of Rivers State University in the medical field and other related courses scholarships.
At the foundation stone laying ceremony of medical buildings at the Rivers State University. Wike said that the aim is to build a health care system that will not fail the good people of Rivers state. He said it was a legacy he is willing to leave after his tenure.
Students, lecturers, members of the PDP, and members of the NMA, were in attendance and foundation laying.
The president of NMA prof. Innocent Ujah was present to flag off the foundation stone laying and the building.
The governor asked that the students in the medical fields who have paid their fees should be refunded, and that the government should be held for their school fees.
Wike said there was more to do than to build roads and hoped that it would mark a turning point in the history of their state and in the medical sector of their state as he addressed the attendees at the rivers state university today.
