MultiChoice Nigeria Hikes Price In Gotv, Dstv Packages

MultiChoice Nigeria, the owners of well-known Nigerian pay television, DStv and GOtv, have once more, hiked the prices for its packages.

The company had in a notice to its customers on Wednesday, April 24, said the new prices take effect from May 1, 2024.

The South-African owned company had blamed the latest increase on a “rise in the cost of business operations.”

The notice read:
“We understand the impact this change may have on you, our valued customer, but the rise in the cost of business operations has led us to make this difficult decision.

“It remains our mission to provide the best entertainment and viewing experience to you and are committed to continue to deliver high-quality content and unparalleled service.”

The new prices for DStv packages are listed below:

  • Premium: N37,000
  • Compact Plus: N25,000
  • Compact: N15,700
  • Confam: N9,300
  • Yanga: N5,100
  • Padi: N3,600
  • HDPVR Access Service: N5,000
  • Access Fees: 5,000
  • XtraView: N5,000
For GOtv packages:
  • Supa+: N15,700
  • Supa: N9,600
  • Max: N7,200
  • Jolli: N4,850
  • Jinja: N3,300
  • Smallie: N1,575

Theses new DSTV, GoTV tariffs are to take effect as from May 2024 and it is coming after three increments

MultiChoice had announced the new price for the DStv and GOtv packages 3 times in 2023 only, with the last one taking effect on November 6, 2023.

This development is coming at a time when Nigerians are facing the harsh effects of the fuel subsidy removal and also the inflated cost of living on food, transportation prices, and all other essential commodities.
