When I saw the news and the press briefing made by ASUU Chairman, I wanted to write a poem. Then, I remembered nothing works in Nigeria not even her Educational system.

What’s the wail for?

The issue at hand is not new, but the frustration and desperation are palpable. For months, federal universities have been without governing councils, leaving a power vacuum that threatens the very fabric of our academic institutions. The federal government’s dissolution of these councils in May last year has left a trail of chaos and uncertainty in its wake.

Nigerians student were once called leader of tomorrow, but can I bet on this there wouldn’t be stable light tomorrow. What’s the lie for, student are facing hardship and constant suffering yet the condition keeps worsening. The federal government has made promise that failed and should be recognized be the Guinness world record.

Prof. Osodeke’s words are laced with emotion as he appeals to Nigerians to hold the government accountable for its actions. “We have been patient, we have been silent, but we can’t keep quiet anymore,” he says, his voice trembling with conviction. “Our universities are suffering, our students are suffering, and our future is at stake.”

They are also protesting the government’s failure to address pressing issues like funding, infrastructure, and the deplorable state of our universities. It’s a cry for help, a desperate plea to save our education system from the brink of collapse.

I see the faces of dedicated educators, men and women who have devoted their lives to shaping the minds of future generations. They are not just fighting for their rights; they are fighting for the future of Nigeria.

Key points:

  • Nigerians are tired of the devasting state of the Academic institution.
  • ASUU is going on strike soon.
  • FG has responded to the promises Made.
