Juventus clinched their 15th Coppa Italia title with a gritty 1-0 victory over Atalanta at the Stadio Olimpico, thanks to an early strike from Dusan Vlahovic. This victory adds another prestigious trophy to Juventus’ already impressive collection, solidifying their dominance in the competition.

The match started with a bang as Juventus took control from the outset. Just four minutes in, Andrea Cambiaso delivered a perfectly weighted pass to Vlahovic. The Serbian forward showcased his strength and composure, holding off Isak Hien’s challenge before calmly slotting the ball past Marco Carnesecchi. The early goal sent the Juventus fans into a frenzy and set the tone for what promised to be an intense final.

Despite the early setback, Atalanta quickly regrouped and sought to level the score. In the 12th minute, Mario Pasalic capitalized on a misplaced pass from Samuel Iling Junior, but his effort was expertly smothered by Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin. Atalanta continued to press, with Charles De Ketelaere firing a wild shot over the bar from the edge of the box just after the half-hour mark.

At halftime, Atalanta made a strategic substitution, bringing on El Bilal Toure for De Ketelaere. The Malian forward made an immediate impact, holding up the ball well and allowing Ademola Lookman to unleash a long-range effort that deflected narrowly wide. The game grew increasingly physical and contentious, particularly when Berat Djimsiti played on while Iling Junior lay on the ground with a potential head injury. Djimsiti’s cross found Teun Koopmeiners, whose header went just wide, much to the frustration of the Juventus players expecting play to be halted.

Juventus faced a relentless onslaught from Atalanta in the second half. Vlahovic thought he had sealed the victory with a glancing header, but it was ruled out by the semi-automated offside system. Earlier, Vlahovic had another effort blocked by Carnesecchi and Marten De Roon, with the latter limping off injured—a concerning development for Atalanta ahead of their UEFA Europa League final against Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Both teams had chances to change the scoreline in the dying minutes. Lookman’s low drive struck the base of Perin’s post, and Fabio Miretti rattled the crossbar at the other end. Despite the late drama, Juventus held firm to secure their first trophy since defeating Atalanta in the 2021 Coppa Italia final.

While Juventus celebrates their hard-earned victory, Atalanta will be looking to regroup quickly as they prepare for their Europa League showdown. The defeat will sting, but Gian Piero Gasperini’s side has shown resilience all season and will aim to bounce back on the European stage.
