UK Issues Travel Warning Amid Nationwide Strike in Nigeria

The United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has issued a travel warning to its citizens intending to visit Nigeria due to the ongoing strike action in the West African nation.

In its advisory, the FCDO urged British citizens traveling to Nigeria to check with their airline or agent before embarking on their trip. This follows the shutdown of airports, including both local and international terminals, across the country on Monday.

“The Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria have commenced a nationwide strike affecting public services across Nigeria,” the FCDO advisory stated. “This includes disruptions at all Nigerian airports, including international terminals,” it added. “You are advised to check with your airline or agent before traveling and make alternative arrangements where required.”
