An aircraft transporting Malawi’s Vice President, Saulos Chilima and nine others has reportedly gone missing, according to a statement from the president’s office.
The statement had added that the Malawi Defense Force aircraft had gone “off the radar” after it left the Malawi capital, Lilongwe, on Monday.
The Malawian president has already, ordered a search and rescue operation after efforts made to contact the aircraft by the aviation officials proved abortive.
At the time of filing this report, the aircraft which was supposed to land at Mzuzu International Airport, in the country’s north is yet to be found.
This unprecedented incident forced the Malawi President, Lazarus Chakwera to cancel his scheduled flight to the Bahamas.
