The Abia State Police Command has freed three siblings, Gideon Osinachi, Obioma Osinachi and Israel Osinachi who were kidnapped in May by an unknown commercial biker in Amoba Okoro village, Ikwuanno Local Government Area.
The children were reported missing on May 10 when a motorcycle hired by the children’s grandmother to take them home following their visit snatched them away
Maureen Chinaka, the state Public Relations Officer, announced the rescue in a statement on Saturday, saying the children had been found and rescued in Anambra and Delta states.
Chinaka further stated that a Reverend Sister and four other suspects had been arrested in connection with the crime.

The statement said,
“Investigation and efforts to rescue the children lasted from 10/05/2024 to 13/06/2024.” During this time, four female and one male suspects were detained in connection with the incident. “The suspects were apprehended in multiple locations, including Amawbia and Nkpor in Anambra State and Warri in Delta State.They include Reverend Sister Pauline Alozie (female), Chizoba DJ (female), Glory Umuna (female), and Mrs.
Georgina Nonye Okoye (female), and Philip Ibe (male).They are in prison and will be charged in court shortly”

Bottom Line
While applauding the joint effort of many stakeholders, such as the Mayor of Ikwuano LGA, Mr Osinachi Nwaka, and Abia State Homeland Security, among others, that resulted in the rescue, Chinaka cautioned the people to be security-conscious and protect children’s safety.
