Siminalayi Fubara, the Rivers State Governor has appointed a caretaker chairmen for the 23 local government areas in the state.
Fubara had transferred the list to the three-member Rivers State House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Victor Jumbo.
This development is coming amid the resumption of political crisis in the state due to the refusal of the former council chairmen to exit their offices after the expiration of their tenure.
A statement released on Tuesday night by the Clerk of the House, G.M. Gillis-West, had revealed that the Assembly invited the nominees for screening on Wednesday, 19th June, by 8:00 am.
