Head of Civil Service praises Nigeria’s civil servants

During a sporting event in Abuja to celebrate the 2024 Civil Service Week, Folasade Yemi-Esan, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, stated that Nigeria has the best civil service in the world.

Yemi-Esan stated that she was very proud of the Nigeria’s civil and public servants stating that they were hardworking and intelligent, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining their health for better productivity. She also lauded the huge turnout for the sporting event from various ministries, departments, and agencies, indicating growing interest in health and wellness activities among public employees.

Yemi-Esan mentioned the improvement in participation over the years, reflecting the increased awareness of health and fitness among civil servants. She urged civil servants to regularly visit wellness centers to stay physically fit and productive, noting that many are still unaware of these resources.

Minister of Sport Development, John Enoh, praised Yemi-Esan for her ongoing support of this initiative, especially during the annual Civil Service Week. He acknowledged the positive impact of having an active leader and commended Yemi-Esan for promoting physical fitness among civil servants.

Permanent Secretary Deborah Bako emphasized the importance of including sports activities during Civil Service Week to enhance mental sharpness. Aliyu Tajudeen, Sports Manager at the Ministry of Education, stated that such activities are essential for increasing productivity.
