Former US President Donald Trump was hit by an assassin’s bullet and the Federal Bureau of Investigation confirmed this incident on Friday, putting an end to speculation about the nature of the Republican candidate’s injury at a campaign rally earlier this month.

“What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject’s rifle.

Trump’s right ear was coated in blood on July 13 after being injured at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

The FBI called the incident an assasination attempt where a gunman fired eight rounds from outside the event’s security barrier, an assassination attempt.

However, FBI Director Christopher Wray told US senators on Wednesday that it was unclear “whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear.

“Following the new statement from the FBI, which Trump has long claimed is part of a “deep state” conspiracy against him, the Republican said on his Truth Social platform,

“I assume that’s the best apology that we’ll get from Director Wray, but it is fully accepted!”

Earlier on Friday, he received a letter from his former White House doctor, who said the wound was almost certainly caused by a bullet.

“There is absolutely no evidence that it was anything other than a bullet,” stated Ronny Jackson, a current Republican representative from Texas, on Truth Social.

According to officials, the attack critically injured two protest goers and killed a 50-year-old Pennsylvania firefighter.

A US Secret Service sniper shot and killed the gunman. Since the shooting, Trump has made the attack a crucial part of his campaign appeal, telling a Michigan audience that he “took a bullet for democracy.”

Trump referred to the assault as having “God on his side”.

At Trump rallies, many of the former president’s followers have started donning bandages on their right ears in homage to the incident.

“According to a New York Times study released on Friday, “a detailed analysis of bullet trajectories, footage, photos and audio strongly suggests Mr Trump was grazed by the first of eight bullets fired by the gunman.”

Trump’s team has not disclosed any medical reports or statements from his current doctors, instead quoting Jackson, a former White House physician and close political buddy of the ex-president.

Final Thoughts

The FBI coming out to verify the incident is a good decision. In the sense that, a lot of people have viewed what happened to Trump as a political strategy and cooked up plan to win the heart of the people and most likely implicate his opponents.

False claims can spread quickly, especially on social media. It’s essential to critically evaluate the source of the information and be wary of platforms known for spreading unverified news.
