FIFA President Gianni Infantino has announced plans to introduce a new competition, a world U-15 football festival featuring all 206 member football associations. This was revealed during his speech at the FIFA Congress in Bangkok.
He underlined that the new competition is trying to help young talent and promote football development across the entire globe. He emphasized it had to include opportunities afforded to all youth players coming from every member association.
“This U-15 festival is going to bring young talents all over the world together to see the future of football and create international friendship,” Infantino said.
Again, the FIFA President adds that funds from FIFA are a necessity if the member associations are to hold football activities in their respective regions. He says FIFA gives out 70 percent of its revenue for supporting the associations and thus develops football in a viable form all around the world.
“Our commitment to funding football activities across all member associations is unwavering. We’re looking at how to make sure that football reaches every corner of the globe, providing an equal chance for all,” Infantino added.
The World U-15 Football Festival can become one of the greatest ever milestones in the footballing calendar, giving young athletes an opportunity to compete at an international level and be exposed to experiences worth gold. This move underlines FIFA’s commitment to the development of a new generation of stars in football while promoting the globality of the sport.
