Gunmen alleged to be kidnappers have kidnapped a Director with the Rivers State Board of Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Aribibia John Fubara.
From the reports gathered, Fubara had been abducted at Okrika Waterfront, near Marine Base in Port Harcourt on Saturday.
Reports further indicated that the kidnappers, numbering six, were fully armed, with a source revealing that they had shot sporadically into the air, carefully marked out their target, and forcibly took him into a boat before taking off in the speed boat.
Upon being contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Grace Iringe-Koko, remarked that the command was aware of the incident and that the State Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu had given directions to tactical units to ensure that the victim is rescued unharmed. The Police Commissioner had also revealed that a manhunt has been launched to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to book.
