Finally, after two La Liga appearances, Barcelona have registered summer signing Dani Olmo, making him ready for their coming La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano on Tuesday. The Euro 2024 winner moved to Barca in a €60 million move from RB Leipzig this summer but has missed the first two league games of the season due to registration delays.

Olmo’s absence has been a frustrating period for both player and manager Hansi Flick, who made it known that the recent financial difficulties of the club made the registration process complicated, but Mundo Deportivo and Marca report that La Liga has now ratified Olmo’s registration, paving the way for his debut in the midweek fixture.

These moves have been able to open the door to Olmo’s registration by coming after the summer exits of Ilkay Gundogan to Manchester City and Clement Lenglet on loan to Atletico Madrid, with Andreas Christensen’s long-term injury freeing up space on the wage bill. Mikayil Faye has also been moved on permanently and Vitor Roque temporarily.

Olmo’s presence is a welcome relief for Flick, as injury doubts hover over the team’s crucial midfielders in Frenkie de Jong and Gavi. It is expected that Olmo will boost the squad’s depth in the attempt to secure their third successive league win.
