Andrew Wynne, the British national, who was declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force for reportedly plotting to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s government (with a Nigerian national, Lucky Ehims) has said that he is not running.

This is coming after the Nigerian police had placed a N20 million bounty on them.

The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyuwa Adejo had already said in a statement that anyone with information that would lead to to the arrest of the duo would be rewarded N10 million for each of the suspects.

However, while addressing the serious issue on a Channels TV program on Monday, Wynne revealed that he was ready for talks with the Nigeria Police.

Wynne had also denied the allegation, declaring that he could not have been scheming to destabilise the leadership of the Nigerian government, as he has been visiting the nation for over 25 years, making him an admirer of the country.

He also expressed his eagerness to meet with officials from the Nigerian High Commission in London for a proper conversation on the allegations pointed at him.

What They’re Saying

Wynne had said, “I am not aware that I am a fugitive. I am not aware that I am running away from the law.

“I have been visiting Nigeria for 25 years and have had a bookshop in the NLC office right in the centre of Abuja for seven years. All that time, of course, the security forces have paid no interest in me.

“I am more than happy to talk to the police and have a discussion on WhatsApp or Zoom.

“I am more than happy to go to London and meet with officials from the Nigerian High Commission.”
