Who will be Atiku’s running mate?

Political bigwig, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is a strong candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party. In case you forgot, Atiku was PDP’s Presidential Candidate in 2019. He ran against All Progressives Congress (APC) President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 Presidential Elections, but Buhari won.

There are rumblings that Atiku would run in the 2023 election for the presidency. Atiku is a Presidential Candidate from the North. As a result, the Vice Presidential Position may be zoned to the South Central Region of the country by the PDP. However, the PDP’s leaders will not choose just any party leader as their vice-presidential candidate. The PDP’s top leaders will choose which candidate has the qualifications to become the Party’s vice president based on its platform.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State is a PDP Leader with all the qualifications to be the Party’s Vice Presidential Candidate. In the 2023 presidential election, Governor Wike and Atiku could run together to increase the Party’s number of votes. If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll remember that Governor Wike is a very involved governor in Southsouth. As governor, Wike has had a positive impact on the Party’s growth.

Governor Nyesom Wike

Among Governor Wike’s attempts to grow the Party, everyone should remember that Governor Wike was one of the leaders who advocated for the resignation of the beleaguered National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus. Despite this, Secondus declined to resign as the Party’s chairman, despite Governor Wike and other top party officials’ pleas. As a result of his dedication to the Party’s advancement, Governor Wike may be paired with Atiku in the 2023 presidential campaign.

Atiku may be paired with Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and a current member of the PDP, in the 2023 presidential campaign. When Atiku became the 2019 Democratic Party Presidential Candidate, Obi was chosen as his running mate. Remember that Atiku’s running mate, Peter Obi, helped the PDP win the 2019 elections in the South-South and Southeast. Peter Obi is the only person with his personality type in Anambra State, if not the whole Southeast.

PETER OBI

When Peter Obi was governor of Anambra State, he performed well, and that performance continues to benefit him to this day. If Atiku and Obi were granted presidential tickets in 2023, the PDP would have a relatively easy time winning the next election. There will be a credible vice presidential candidate from the Party, either from Governor Wike or Peter Obi’s camp.
