Raheem Sterling will wear the number 30 shirt at Arsenal in the 2024/25 campaign following his last-minute transfer from Chelsea. The move, confirmed early Saturday, reunites the England international with Mikel Arteta, his former coach at Manchester City.

Arsenal revealed Sterling will don the No 30 shirt, which had belonged to goalkeeper Matt Turner before his exit last summer. Eddie Nketiah, another previous wearer of the No 30, moved to the No 14 jersey before he left to join Crystal Palace on deadline day. Yet despite that number becoming free, Sterling has been given No 30.

Sterling, known for wearing the number 7 shirt at Manchester City and Chelsea, takes up a new number as he begins his Arsenal chapter. Fans eagerly await his debut, with the potential for his first appearance coming in the high-stakes north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on September 15. The arrival of Sterling brings the much-needed spark into Arsenal’s lineup as the Gunners seek to fortify their attacking options for the season. His experience and versatility from Chelsea will add more teeth to the Gunners in their continued campaign in the Premier League.
