Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power, has announced Nigeria will commit to universal access to energy by the year 2060 having a short term goal of generating about 30GW from the grid by 2030. This forms part of vision 30: 30: 30 for this country which means that within the next ten years they expect to supply themselves with approximately thirty gigawatts (30GW) through this kind of energy where thirty percent (30%) will be sourced from renewable sources.

Speaking during an economic cooperation and trade conference at China-Nigeria held in Beijing China, he added that it is essential for the Federal Republic of Nigeria to join hands with their Chinese counterparts as far as growing cleaner and better renewable resources are concerned.

To achieve these objectives the Federal Republic of Nigeria has implemented various strategies including streamlining legislation and policies, harnessing both public and private money, embracing technology and innovation as well as forming alliances.

Adelabu also emphasized on the magnitude of Nigeria-Chana Economic Forum in boosting already established areas for cooperation while searching into other opportunities for commonwealth.
