The 2024 US presidential elections are still neck and neck, according to new information obtained from a widespread study carried out by Siena College together with the New York Times. The survey shows that Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, is leading Kamala Harris, his Democratic rival, by just 1% point at 48% against her 47%.
The poll was conducted among 1,695 registered voters between September 3rd-6th. The poll’s results, which have a margin of error of three percent, confirm that the economy continues to be very crucial for voters.
For instance, it’s revealed that 56% feel like Trump would deal with financial situations better; while a substantial amount, totaling 51%, say current economic conditions are poor. As both candidates approach the end of their campaigns, they will face each other on Tuesday night in what would be their only scheduled debate before the November elections, held in Philadelphia.
The Democratic nominee, Kamala Harris, is noted as someone about whom 28% of likely voters want more information, after President Joe Biden announced last July that he wouldn’t run again.
