Over 73.67% of the results from the Edo governorship election have been uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Result Viewing Portal. Reports indicate that results from 3,329 out of 4,519 polling units where elections were held have been submitted.
In an interview on Arise Television, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Edo, Anugbum Onuoha, assured viewers that the results would be transmitted electronically. He noted that only poor network conditions could impede the transmission to the viewing portal (IReV).
“We have trained the operators for the BVAS, and they are ready. The BVAS is used to accredit voters and determine the total number of voters at each polling unit. After voters cast their ballots, results will be counted and uploaded to our IReV,” he stated.
