A section of the Eleme Local Government Area secretariat in Rivers State has been set on fire.
From reports made by Channels Television, the newly elected chairman, Brain Gokpa, had arrived to the LG secretariat accompanied by his councillors and supporters but it was discovered that some buildings in the complex had been set on fire. The report cited a phone conversation with former Ambassador Oji Ngofa, a native of Eleme.
From this development, there is a perceptible fear of a potential outbreak of violence in some LGAs of the state.
