With less than 20 days remaining before the 2024 U.S. presidential election, Rachel Maddow has reported another scandal involving the Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump.

This latest revelation alleges that Trump made further attempts to silence his former alleged partner, Stormy Daniels, despite being convicted earlier this year in a felony case. These new allegations come just weeks before the judgment is set to be delivered in his notorious hush money case.

In May, Trump was convicted of laundering money to pay off Daniels, just 11 days before the 2016 election. He is now awaiting judgment on that case. However, Rachel Maddow’s recent report reveals new records indicating that Trump, through his lawyer, tried to make another payment to Daniels via her attorney. The aim was allegedly to ensure she remains silent about their affair.

The Proposed NDA and Legal Maneuvering

According to Maddow’s account, Trump’s lawyer was negotiating with Daniels’ legal team regarding legal fees Daniels supposedly owed Trump. During these discussions, Trump’s lawyer allegedly proposed reducing some of the fees in exchange for Daniels signing a new non-disclosure agreement (NDA). The purpose of this NDA was to prevent Daniels from publicly discussing Trump or releasing any damaging information about their alleged affair.

While NDAs are common, this move has raised eyebrows, especially since Trump had already been convicted of paying hush money to Daniels in the past. It seems puzzling that, after his conviction, Trump would attempt another payment to silence Daniels, who has previously described her relationship with Trump as an “unpleasant sex affair.” This latest discovery could further tarnish Trump’s reputation as a presidential contender, raising questions about why he would be so keen to silence Daniels on multiple occasions.

Campaign Denials and Questions Raised

Trump’s campaign team has denied these allegations, claiming they are the result of hackers trying to sabotage the campaign ahead of the election. However, Maddow has presented detailed evidence, including emails and a recorded phone call between Daniels and her attorney, which reportedly confirm the new hush money offer.

As the election draws near, these revelations could have significant implications. Will this new scandal sway voters, influence Trump’s sentencing, or further damage his campaign? Why is Trump so focused on silencing Daniels, and could the proposed NDA be considered illegal in this context? These are the pressing questions surrounding the hush money crisis as the 2024 presidential race heats up.
