The Georgia secretary of state’s office had announced on Wednesday that it had fended off a cyberattack that was targeted to crash the website state’s voters were using to request absentee ballots.

At the time of filing this report in Thursday, October 24, no further information was provided.

CNN had also reported that there was no disruption to voters’ ability to request ballots.

An official in Georgia’s secretary of state’s office, Gabe Sterling, who is charged with overseeing elections in the battleground state had said to CNN,
“It slowed our systems down for a little bit, but it never stopped our systems from working.”

Early voting for the presidential election on November 5 began in Georgia and in some other U.S. states earlier this month.

More details to come….
