Fire Razes Section of Lagos State Blue Line Rail Track

A fire broke out on a section of the Lagos State Blue Line rail track on Saturday, near NEPA Station by Eko Bridge heading towards Apogbon.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, confirmed the incident on X, reporting that no casualties occurred. Akosile shared, “There was a fire outbreak on a small section of the Lagos Blue Line track opposite NEPA Station by Eko Bridge inward Apogbon. The incident occurred at 4:12 pm. No casualties have been reported, and no train was in service at the time.”

Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene and have since contained the fire. Akosile assured residents, “Lagosians in that area can go about their business peacefully as the situation is under control.”

Further updates on train operations are expected from the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (@Lamataonline).
