The Washington state governor had on Friday said he was deploying some members of the National Guard to be on stand-by after information and concerns regarding potential violence related to the 2024 election were made.
Washington state is where Democrat Kamala Harris is expected to easily defeat Republican Donald Trump —at least according to polling, but recently, one of two ballot boxes were set on fire earlier in the week.
For Washington state residents, early voting is available to them and over 2 million people have cast their ballots, according to the Election Lab at the University of Florida.
Governor Jay Inslee on Friday, wrote a letter published on his website that read;
“Based upon general and specific information and concerns regarding the potential for violence or other unlawful activity related to the 2024 general election, I want to ensure we are fully prepared to respond.”
According to Inslee, Hundreds of ballots were either damaged or destroyed by the use of the incendiary device in the drop box in Vancouver city.
