Former President Donald Trump addressed supporters at a campaign rally, where he criticised Vice President Kamala Harris about the recent jobs report. The report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics for October showed only 12,000 new jobs, which made Trump compare the current situation to the Great Depression during President Herbert Hoover’s time.
Trump pointed out the importance of jobs in the private sector and compared the recent loss of nearly 30,000 private sector jobs to the creation of mostly government jobs. He also mentioned the loss of almost 50,000 manufacturing jobs in just one month.
“We need private sector jobs, not government jobs,” Trump said. “These numbers are very unusual, similar to what happened in 1929 during the Great Depression.”
Trump blamed the economic problems on Harris’ open border policies, which he believes have allowed illegal immigrants to take jobs from American citizens. He asked people to ask for the correct numbers from Washington, pointing out the unfairness of the situation.
