Fox News Predicts Trump to Win the US Presidential Elections

Fox News has forecasted the Republican candidate, Donald Trump to win the U.S. presidency, defeating Democrat’s Kamala Harris and capping a remarkable political comeback four years after he left the White House.

This prediction has been made by Fox News alone as other media outlets have yet to call the race.

Trump has already won the swing states of North Carolina and Georgia and is leading in several others, according to Edison Research.

The U.S Senate majority had been won by the Republicans after they flipped Democratic seats in West Virginia and Ohio.

So far, none of the party seems to have an edge in the fight for control of the House of Representatives where Republicans presently hold a narrow majority.

Trump went into Election Day with a 50-50 chance of reclaiming the White House, – a remarkable turnaround from January 6, 2021, when many analysts proclaimed his political career to be over.

On that fateful day, a mob of his supporters had attacked the Congress in a violent attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

During this election, Trump picked up more support from Hispanics, (who have traditionally been Democratic voters) and among lower-income households that have severely felt the sting of price rises since the last presidential election in 2020. This report was according to exit polls from Edison.

Trump went on to win 45% of Hispanic voters nationwide, coming juts behind Harris who won with 53% but Trump’s percentage was up 13 when compared to 2020’s.

At least 31% of voters had claimed that the economy was their top issue, thus, they voted for Trump by a 79%-to-20% margin, according to exit polls.

Another 45% of voters across the U.S said their family’s financial situation was worse off at present than four years ago, and that’s why they favored Trump 80% to 17%.

Finance-wise, Global investors were increasingly pricing in a Trump win late on Tuesday.

The U.S. stock futures and the dollar appreciated, while Treasury yields climbed and bitcoin rose – these were signals flagged by analysts and investors as trades that supported a Trump victory.

As for Donald Trump, he improved his numbers in suburban counties, rural regions and even some big cities that were historically epicentres of Democratic support.

Harris had relied (heavily) on big margins among these urban and suburban voters, but her support in those places have run well behind President Joe Biden’s when he won in the 2020 election.

According to the exit polls, almost three-quarters of voters said American democracy is under threat, underscoring the depth of polarization in a nation where differences have only grown evident during a fiercely competitive election.
