The Anambra State Government has declared that it will see the litigation of the quite shocking attack in Awka to its end. One Nnamdi Nnebe allegedly stabbed his brother’s wife, Njideka Nnebe, during a family dispute.
The incident reportedly began when Nnamdi accused Njideka’s son of playing with a tricycle parked in the family compound. Despite her efforts to calm him, the argument escalated. Nnamdi was then said to have brought out a knife and attacked Njideka, leaving her with a serious injury on her elbow.
She was rushed to the hospital, where she is recovering. The state government has assured the public that the case will be treated seriously and not dismissed as a family matter.
The police have confirmed that Nnamdi is in custody and will face charges after investigations are completed. The government hopes this case will serve as a deterrent against violence within families.
