The Nigeria’s senior women basketball team, D’Tigress has been congratulated by The Youth and Sports Development Minister, Sunday Dare, for reaching the final of the 2021 Afrobasket women championship in Cameroon.
D’Tigress secured their place in the finals in famous victory over a resilient Senegalese side in a thriling encounter that ended 73-63 on friday night. This win means D’Tigress have now reached the AWC finals for the third time consecutively.
Sunday Dare, Youth and Sports Minister praised the team for their brilliant performance since the start of the tournament and applauded for their services for the nation.
He then call on the defending champions to crown what has been an astounding tournament witha victory in the final so as to affirm their status as the African “Queen of the Court”
D’Tigress will now face Mali in the final on Sunday after the host country, Cameroon lost to the Malians 52-51 in the other semi final game.
