Unidentified gunmen in the Lantoro area of Abeokuta have killed 22-year-old Razak Jimoh by axing and shooting him.
DAILY POST gathered that two masked men chased the victim, who ran into a house. They dragged him into the corridor, struck his leg with an axe, and shot him in the head.
Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the Ogun Police Command, confirmed the incident on Sunday, noting that it took place at 11 p.m. on Thursday.
Odutola stated, “The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kemta Division, upon getting the information, immediately mobilized detectives to the crime scene.”
She further said, “The victim’s body has since been deposited at the General Hospital for autopsy and further investigation.”
Odutola condemned the violent crime, suggesting it could be linked to cult activities. She also revealed that Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo had launched an urgent search for the suspects and assured the public that justice would be served.
She also urged residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station without delay.
