Negotiations over contract extension between Chelsea and Antonio Rudiger has hit the bottom rocks, and it seem like the German is ready to switch side come next summer transfer.

Real Madrid is one of the frontrunners that wants to secure the services of the Chelsea defender and there has been growing speculation amidst the Real Madrid squad in expectation of the arrival of Antonio Rudiger.

Rudiger is said to be demanding more than what the club is offering and failure to tie him down to a new contract might see him go to his preferred destination for free.

The 28-year old was instrumental to Chelsea’s 2020/21 Champions League title winning triumph under Thomas Tuchel, and he has been one of the stand-out player since the appointment of the manager, but it now seem like club owner Roman Abrahamovich is reluctant in making Rudiger one of their highest earners at the club.

Top clubs like Bayern, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Liverpool are monitoring the situation of the former AS Roma defender. The German international is free to negotiate and sign a pre-contract with any club that wants him in January.

According to the Telegraph this morning, it’s believed that Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois both former teammates of Antonio Rudiger are super confident of the defender’s arrival when his contract expires in June 2022.

Another contract situation at Chelsea is that one of Andreas Christensen and the club have not come to term with the Danish international and teams like Barcelona and Juventus are allowed keeping tab on.

However, if Chelsea fail to tie both Rudiger and Christensen to a new contract renewal, the club may have to splash out cash to secure the service of Sevilla’s Jules Koundé as replacement.
