Mohbad’s Mother Accuses Singer’s Father Of Delaying DNA Test For Liam

Abosede, Mohbad’s mother, has accused Joseph Aloba, the late singer’s father, of delaying the DNA test that would establish Liam’s paternity.

Liam is the son of Mohbad and his spouse, Omowunmi. After the singer passed away on September 12, 2023, he was laid to rest the next day.

His remains were unearthed by the police for an autopsy on September 21, 2023.

The singer’s father had demanded that a DNA test be conducted before Mohbad could be reburied.

In an Instagram live session on Wednesday, Abosede said that “Aloba is causing the delay” even though she and Omowunmi are ready for the DNA test to protect Liam’s identity.

According to Abosede, Mohbad never questioned Liam’s paternity while he was alive, and she sees no reason to doubt it now.

She said that Joseph never questioned the child’s paternity and talked about how he took photos with Liam just a few days before Mohbad passed away.

Abosede also spoke about the turbulence preceding Mohbad’s passing, including a disagreement with his former label boss, Naira Marley.

She explained that Mohbad opted to keep his wedding and childbirth hidden due to the issue.

“Jossy is the one delaying the DNA. We are ready for DNA. Wunmi must do the DNA because of Liam. I know he is my grandchild. When Mohbad was alive he never mentioned Liam is not his,” she said.

“Mohbad died on Sept 12. On Sept 7, I was at his house and I called the dad to come over and play with us. When he arrived, I was in the kitchen with Liam on my back.

“Mohbad told me I should give him Liam; he placed him on his dad’s lap and was taking pictures with them. He then returned Liam to me. Mohbad never denied Wunmi or Liam when he was alive. He was always giving us money for our upkeep.

“The issue between Mohbad and Naira Marley started when Mohbad requested to change his manager.

“They started beating him everywhere. The last time they beat him, he landed at the hospital. It was Naira Marley who beat him to a stupor.

“My son lived in fear all his life. It was because of Naira Marley that my son did not publicize his wedding and the birth of his son. Mohbad was a good man. He never trafficked cocaine. I am saying this with my full chest.”

Abosede explained that Mohbad’s brother, Adura, did not send a message to actor Yomi Fabiyi about knowing the circumstances of the singer’s death.

Fabiyi, she claimed, was attempting to connect Adura to his brother’s demise.

“Concerning the person that chatted with Yomi Fabiyi, it was Damola who told Yomi that he knew what killed Mohbad. Adura arrested Damola and I went to the police station to ask him what my offence was and why he impersonated my son, Adura. He didn’t say anything meaningful,” she added.

“…Damola has confessed that he regretted what he did. Yomi Fabiyi has told Damola to implicate Adura so he doesn’t go to prison alone, I have all the evidence. Yomi Fabiyi knew that it was not Adura who chatted to him. Why is Yomi Fabiyi hell-bent on pinning it on my child?

“I had two sons and you have killed one. Nobody is mentioning Naira Marley or Sam Larry again, it is my son you are calling now because of the lies his father told you.”

Omowunmi had earlier accused Aloba of avoiding the DNA test.
