Arsenal forward Kai Havertz will not play again this season as he has torn his hamstring in the club’s mid-season training camp in Dubai, confirmed by The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

The injury to the German international represents yet another significant blow for Mikel Arteta, who is already juggling a threadbare attacking cast. Gabriel Jesus has also tear his ACL tear while Bukayo Saka is currently out for three months with a hamstring problem although he has started his rehab process, with Gabriel Martinelli is recovering from a similar problem.

Kai Havertz Out for the Season with Hamstring Injury

Havertz’s fitness issue was first reported on Tuesday night, and it has now been confirmed that he will not feature again this season. A definitive decision on whether he needs surgery is still to be made, but the emphasis from Arsenal is on work that will benefit him being available early in the 2025/26 season.

Havertz’s absence leaves Arteta with only three natural forwards: Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri and the Chelsea loanee Raheem Sterling. Not a single one of the trio are recognised central strikers, leaving Arsenal’s attacking quandary deeper than ever.

The Gunners, currently competing for silverware on multiple fronts, will want answers as quickly as possible with their Premier League season set to be resumed against Leicester City this weekend.
