Making The Right Choice With Your Jewelry
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

Jewelries have been a form of beautification dating back a long time ago.

They were first recorded 25,000 years ago in a simple necklace, made out of fish bones. This was found in a cave in Monaco.

Jewelries were not always just used for beautification, they were also used to show certain signs like identification, rank and power and even for some practical purposes like pinning of clothes together and functional uses. Even now, some jewelries are still used as symbols and a good example is the wedding ring which symbolizes marriage.

There are various types of jewelries ranging from the necklace, bracelet, earrings, rings, anklets, chains, armlets, bangle, belly chain (waist bead), choker, tiara, body piercing jewelry and cufflinks. Cufflinks are perhaps the latest type of jewelries and are mostly used by the male gender to hold the cuffs of a shirt.

The right jewelry will make your outfit pop and definitely have you looking more exquisite, but the wrong one might just leave you looking like a clown that is why it is important to know what goes and what doesn’t.

There are certain things you should consider when choosing a jewelry

  • 1. WHAT YOU ARE PUTTING ON:
  • 2. WEAR JEWELRIES THAT MATCH:
  • 3. DON’T DO TOO MUCH:
  • 4. JEWELRIES ARE BETTER WHEN WORN AGAINST YOUR BARE SKIN:

1. WHAT YOU ARE PUTTING ON:

Some jewelries will go perfectly with an attire while others won’t. A good example is an armory worn over the long sleeves of a shirt. Armlets are better when worn with a sleeveless or shortsleeved blouse.

You should also consider the color of your outfit from your head to your feet. If the jewelry’s color just doesn’t match and will distort it all, it’s better you go without it.

2. WEAR JEWELRIES THAT MATCH:

This simply means you shouldn’t put a gold neckpiece over some silver earrings. They just have to match, blend well together.

3. DON’T DO TOO MUCH:

Jewelries attract enough attention already so you definitely don’t want to wear them all. There will be more occasions, don’t force all your jewelries on one outfit, just what is needed will do.

Lastly,

4. JEWELRIES ARE BETTER WHEN WORN AGAINST YOUR BARE SKIN:

I’m not saying you should only wear them when the skin there is bare, I’m just saying, maybe you should consider wearing them when that happens.

Picking out a Jewelry to go with an outfit is not a hard choice, but it is one that you should make with precision. The right Jewelry will do the trick, but the wrong one will have your whole appearance looking like a big failure.
