Nigerian billionaire businessman Femi Otedola played host to music superstars Wizkid and Burna Boy at his residence recently.
The business magnate expressed his appreciation for the chance to meet with two of Nigeria’s most prominent musicians on his X page on Wednesday, sharing some of the visit’s highlights.
He called the event a “true privilege” and emphasised the value of sharing ideas and celebrating the global growth of Afrobeats.
“A true privilege to host some of our biggest music icons,” he wrote.
“Always inspiring to share ideas and celebrate the global movement that is Afrobeats…F.Ote $.”
Wizkid and Burna Boy are considered two of the most influential musicians in Nigeria.
The ‘Made in Lagos’ star gained widespread recognition in 2011 with the release of his debut album, Superstar.
The singer has since put out five new albums and won various awards, including a Grammy in 2021.
Burna Boy rose to fame with the release of “Like to Party,” the lead single from his debut album L.I.F.E, in 2013.
Since then, Burna Boy has solidified his place as a major figure in the music industry, earning several accolades, including the 2021 Grammy Award for Best World Music Album for his album Twice As Tall.
Otedola is a prominent businessman with investments across various sectors, including oil and gas, shipping, real estate, and finance. As the founder of Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd, he has also made substantial contributions to power generation, playing a key role in Nigeria’s sector liberalisation.
