At least nine Palestinians, including three journalists, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza, according to Gaza’s health ministry. The attack comes as Hamas holds ceasefire talks in Cairo, raising concerns over Israel’s commitment to the January 19 ceasefire agreement.

Ceasefire or Empty Words? Gaza Burns Again

The Israeli military claims it targeted “terrorists” operating a drone, but it has not provided evidence of the alleged threat. Palestinian officials, however, insist the victims were civilians on a charity mission with journalists documenting their work.

Israel Strikes Again: Nine Dead in Gaza!

The airstrike hit a car, leaving several critically injured. Hamas has accused Israel of violating the ceasefire, claiming that 150 Palestinians have been killed since January 19.

Salama Marouf, head of Gaza’s media office, stated:

“The team was made of civilians. They posed no danger to the occupation army.”

Hamas: Free Hostages, Israel: No Talks!

Amid the escalating Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Hamas offered to free an American-Israeli soldier if Israel committed to ceasefire negotiations. However, Israel dismissed the offer as “psychological warfare”, refusing to negotiate a permanent end to the war.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s war on Gaza has killed over 48,000 Palestinians, flattening entire neighborhoods. Israel denies accusations of genocide, but the Gaza death toll keeps rising. With this new strike, nine persons have been killed, adding to the thousands of deaths this senseless war has recorded.

With Israel striking again and nine dead in Gaza, how much longer can this cycle of bloodshed continue?
