Nigerian award-winning actress and film producer Eniola Ajao has spoken about dealing with criticism, highlighting the need to learn from both praise and negative remarks.

She acknowledges that not everyone will like her and sees criticism as a tool for growth.

The actress explained that while some criticisms stem from dislike, others may be intended to push her toward improvement. Instead of rejecting criticism, she embraces it as part of being a public figure, using it to refine herself.

In an exclusive chat with The Nation, Ajao stated, “I’m a strong believer that everybody cannot like you. If you’re being criticized for something, it may mean they want you to change for good. Sometimes, it might be because they don’t like you, while other times, they want you to give your best. So, we have to learn from criticism and use it to better ourselves. That’s why I don’t really criticize criticism—I take it as it comes because I’m a public figure. I can’t be liked by everyone.”

The movie star also opened up about regaining her financial stability after selling some properties to fund her ambitious blockbuster Ajakaju, which made a strong impact in the industry.

“Not all, but we are still going to make it back. By God’s grace,” she said, expressing confidence in recouping her investment.

Ajao expressed her enthusiasm for her upcoming project, Owambe Thieves, calling it a must-watch.

“We did amazingly well with this movie, and I can’t wait for the world to see this great work,” she enthused.
